The SPOC Soccer Club is well into its 2021 pre-season. Some 70 players have attended training sessions on the manicured lawns of the Farr Oval. There has been a positive and vibrant feel at training sessions with Coach, David Brigham taking on his position as the club’s A coach. Mr Sean Inman current staff member and Director of Football at the School has been supporting the club with his expertise in game style and technical direction.

Our committee has taken on a young group of proud old scholars. Myles Wallace (SHT 2009), Matt Townsend (HWK 2017) Ari Nelson (FRR 2017) and Sebastian Cardone (YNG 2017) have brought their passion for the School and club and provided an array of skills and expertise.

The season proper starts after the Easter weekend. With four teams representing the club we are welcoming any old scholars who would like to join the club as a player, sponsor or supporter. A Saturday afternoon playing Soccer on the Lloyd is always a special moment.

Finally, the photo’s above are two new players to the club. Tom Champion and Stuart Rowlands ventured out from the UK a few years ago and also have roles at the School in the Badminton program, with Stuart the Director of the Sport. Both Tom and Stuart are enjoying the comradery and friendships of being a part of SPOC Soccer Club.

See you at the football.
