2018 was another fantastic year for the men and women of St. Peter’s Old Collegians Hockey Club. With thankfully no critical injuries plaguing us this year, our four women’s and one men’s team proved to be highly competitive on the field, with some great games being played out.

One of the many highlights is our men’s team getting back into the finals! After a slow start to the season, the lads countered by bringing good numbers out to games (at one stage we had 18 possible players for a 16-man game!) and getting back to playing fun and exciting hockey. To make it back to the finals since our loss in the Grand Final in 2016 was exhilarating stuff, and we went into the game with high hopes. Unfortunately, it was not to be, going to down to Port Adelaide HC in a penalty shootout. David Ogilvie (S&A ’10) managed to hang on to take out our Club’s highest goal scorer for the year, being hotly contested by Metro 1’s player and past President Ally Newcombe.

The lead up to the 2019 season is looking fantastic, with great numbers, highly skilled, enthusiastic players, and lots of home rounds to bring the SPOC community together. Join us to keep track of all the fun and excitement on our Facebook page, St Peter’s Old Collegians’ Hockey Club. First round kicks off Saturday 6th of April in the afternoon at the State Hockey Centre, all are welcome to come cheer on the mighty Blues!   Our first weekend of home games is May 4-5.
